The JMC Law leadership team have worked together for over ten years including seven years as founders and principals in Global Restitution Partners, a UK & US litigation funder underwriting over $100m as well as developing and executing high value claim groups for antitrust and securities litigation.

John Moore, CEO

John is a finance veteran with over 40 years’ experience in secondary equities and equity Capital Markets. In 2001 John became one of the founding partners in Execution Limited which was sold to Portuguese Bank Espirito Santo in 2010. After leaving in 2011, John set up his own advisory business culminating in JMC Law and Global Restitution Partners, which involved him in litigation funding on both sides of the Atlantic. John’s vast network of contacts and relationship management skills has seen group bookbuilds and capital provisioning go from strength to strength.

Mark Agate

Mark is a qualified lawyer who started his career with the international law firm Allen & Overy, gaining a first rate transactional and corporate law background. Mark subsequently joined the innovative firm Spring Law - advisers to growth companies, their owners and investors, Mark started working with John in 2011. With over twenty five years’ experience in law and litigation finance Mark leads on funding, structuring, transactional and operational arrangements. Likewise Mark’s management role at JMC Law is invaluable with a firm grasp on the firm’s day to day business activities.

Matt Blott

Matt is a founding partner of JMC Law. Prior to JMC, Matt gained over seven years’ experience in litigation finance, where he was a founding shareholder and lead investment analyst at Global Restitution Partners, a UK and US litigation funder. During this time, Matt worked across the entire investment process—from deal sourcing and due diligence to final structuring—underwriting over $100 million in financing secured against legal assets worth several billion dollars. Previously, Matt worked in corporate finance, principally focusing on private market transactions, including conventional equity and credit investments, as well as distressed asset and special situation strategies.

Outside of work, Matt is a keen sportsman and open water swimmer, having competed in endurance events around the world, including multiple crossings of the Rottnest Channel (20km) and the Windermere Swim (17km). He is currently training to swim the Irish Channel.

Matt holds a BA (Hons) in History from Newcastle University and is a CFA Charterholder, having passed all exams on his first attempt.
